WHAT SCREENING DO WE OFFER?
The Vitality Health Check is a simple and convenient set of essential health screenings and preventive tests and includes:
- Blood pressure
- Cholesterol
- Blood glucose
- Weight, Height, Waist circumference, BMI
- Smoker’s declaration
- HIV Testing (optional) including pre and post- test counselling
When results are outside of the healthy range, it is recommended to consult with your doctor for further testing.

Medical Aid Cover
Members of most medical schemes administered by Discovery Health (Pty) Ltd are covered for one Vitality Health Check a year from the Screening and Prevention benefit – it won’t impact your day-to-day benefits. (If you are in a general waiting period, Discovery Health does not cover this.) You should check your plan for benefit details.
If you are a Discovery Life policyholder only, you will need to pay for the Vitality Health Check upfront. This fee applies if:
-You are not part of the Discovery Health Medical Scheme or a scheme that Discovery Health (Pty) Limited administers
-You had the tests done once before in the year
-You have an applicable waiting period or the provider asks for payment upfront.
WHERE WILL THE VITALITY ASSESSMENT TAKE PLACE?
Individual screening can be booked at our clinics or we can do group bookings on-site, as part of wellness days.
