HSP Group SA offers Occupational Health skin checks. As with all HSP’s other Medical Surveillance and Medical Screening services, our skin checking service is very convenient, simple to engage and causes minimal disruption with the medical review taking only 10 – 15 minutes per employee.
HSP Occupational Health offers skin surveillance service (on its own or as part of a comprehensive medical surveillance examination).
The skin checks are conducted by an Occupational Health Nurse and typically take 10-15 minutes per person. This includes a review of a questionnaire (to be completed by each individual beforehand), the examination itself and advice on skin care.
On-site, we only need the use of a convenient room near to the workforce and then our Occupational Health Nurse will simply work through those exposed staff and in whatever order or timetable that suits production. As we conduct each skin check, we will explain the results to the employee and give skin care advice as appropriate. At the end of the day the Occupational Health Advisor will give a quick debrief to the Manager and a few days later HSP will issue a summarised management report for your records. We retain all records confidentially and as dictated by the appropriate regulations. Having previous records also allows us to make comparisons, on subsequent visits, to detect any early signs of any abnormal detriation in skin conditions and any early signs of Occupational Dermatitis and therefore help tackle any issues before they become a more serious problem.

Substances that Cause Occupational Dermatitis
If the signs are detected early enough and corrective action is taken then the problem can be reduced or cured completely. However if left untreated then the dermatitis can become irreversible and exposure to even a small amount of the problem substance can trigger a bad reaction.

Note: Solvents can increase the damage caused by these other sensitisers.
